I qualified as a Clinical Aromatherapist in August 2007 at the Penny Price Academy in Hinckley. Penny Price has taught Aromatherapy since 1986 and her mother Shirley Price is author of the International best selling "Aromatherapy Workbook". The qualification I gained was a Diploma in the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapist's (IFPA), together with studies in Anatomy & Physiology.

My working life up to this point has been somewhat varied but interesting at the present time I work as an Assistant Radiographer. I have always had an interest in Aromatherapy, but never the opportunity to study until this point in my life. It has certainly been worth the wait as I enjoy every moment learning something new about plants and their therapeutic properties. The result of this is my knowledge can be used for the benefit of others wellbeing in my new found practice.

All the essential oils I use are from known producers of quality essential oils such as Penny Price or Tisserand. Please be assured this quality will always be of the highest importance. I go the regular updates regarding oils and their uses as Aromatherapy is an up and coming complimentary therapy, with certain medical professionals using oils alongside modern medicine.

Aromatherapy alongside most other complimentary therapies look at the whole person when illness prevails, this is called the holistic approach. For example when we have a headache, or irritable bowel, usually we get pills to take away the pain, but if look at the illness as part of the whole person then usually there is a reason why we get the pain, probably stress? This is the holistic approach. Not every illness can be treated this way, we need conventional medicine at the same time. In years to come I really hope both conventional and complimentary views can work together.
